PLASMODIUMは、オーストラリア南部の大都市メルボルンで活動する5人組デス／ブ ラック・メタル・バンド。中心人物のFuathことマット“スキッツ”サンダース<ds>は、同国の グラインドコア・バンドDAMAGED、 DESTROYER 666等、数々のエクストリーム・メタル・バ ンドを渡り歩いた人物だが、このPLASMODIUMでは、『クトゥルフ神話』シリーズでお馴染 みのホラー作家H・P・ラヴクラフトが創案した概念「コズミックホラー（宇宙的恐怖）」に触 発された楽曲群をプレイしている。PLASMODIUMとしては2016年12月に1stアルバム 『ENTHEOGNOSIS』をリリース済みで、本作はそれ以来、約4年半ぶりに放つ2ndアルバム である。
